NHPI Healing Tides Initiative Phase 1 – Wrap-Up

Guest Post – Jason Lacsmana, Director, Programs and Partnerships

Our Healing Tides: NHPI Leadership + Renewal Initiative leaders completed Phase 1 of the unique program dedicated to the Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander community. This initiative is special because it was mindfully built to address specific communities’ needs. Despite facing critical challenges, NHPI communities have seen a need for more effort from the philanthropic world.

Phase 1 concluded with a powerful in-person gathering, where NHPI leaders had the opportunity to connect, share, and learn from each other. This event, captured in a wrap-up video by Albert Halim of Toviah Studios and a series of images by Lyka Gozon of Lyks Creative, was a testament to the energizing, motivating, and emotional journey we’ve embarked on together.

As one of the participants said of the event –

“Because they cultivated such a safe space for us, we were able to be vulnerable. We were able to be happy and laugh loud, obnoxious, laughing, which brought so much joy.”

I hope you take a few minutes to watch the video and enjoy  the photos. If you’re interested in seeing what else St. Joseph Fund is doing to build communities that are lively, hopeful, healthy, and just, check out our LinkedIn.
