Sister Jayne Helmlinger, CSJ, Joins SJF Board of Directors


The St. Joseph Fund (SJF) is thrilled to welcome Sister Jayne Helmlinger, CSJ, to its esteemed Board of Directors. With a distinguished career marked by unwavering service, exceptional leadership, and profound spiritual guidance, Sr. Jayne’s appointment is a testament to her wealth of experience and invaluable expertise.


Sr. Jayne shares her profound commitment to nurturing individuals’ growth as a member, presenter, writer, and spiritual director for the Center for Spiritual Development, a Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange ministry. She has made a lasting impact within her community and beyond.


Before her current positions, Sr. Jayne held significant leadership roles within the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange, including two terms as General Superior spanning from 2011 to 2021. Her visionary leadership embodies the values of compassion, inclusivity, and empowerment.


Before her tenure in congregational leadership, Sr. Jayne served as the Executive Vice President of Mission Integration for St. Joseph Health in Orange, California. In this capacity, she ensured that the foundational principles of Catholic healthcare were woven into the organization, fostering a culture of holistic care and compassion. Within the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange, Sr. Jayne has been actively involved in various committees and teams, contributing her insights and guidance to initial formation, healthcare, investments, and finance initiatives.


With over 25 years of expertise in healthcare management, specifically with her close ties to Catholic healthcare and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange mission, she is a vital member of SJF’s board.

Sr. Jayne was part of the National Board of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) and the International Union of Superiors General (UISG). She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Wright State University, a Master of Science in Administration from the University of Notre Dame, and a Master of Arts in Health Care Mission from Aquinas Institute of Theology. Additionally, she is a certified Spiritual Director, having completed her training through Loyola Marymount University and the Center for Spiritual Development.


Beyond her professional achievements, Sr. Jayne enjoys various hobbies, including photography, hiking, and golfing, and has a deep appreciation for nature.


Sr. Jayne’s appointment underscores SJFs commitment to investing in and fostering long-term partnerships to ensure communities are lively, hopeful, healthy, and just.
